The experimental demonstration will depict a characteristic property of nanomaterials, which is their enhanced reactivity over conventional materials. The demonstration refers to an experiment of fast oxidation (burning) of iron nanoparticles, which will spontaneously convert them into iron oxide (rust) within a few minutes. The experiment will be accompanied by slide presentation.
